our Story

A street scene viewed through a glass window or display, showing a building with a red brick and white exterior, a parked vintage blue car, and a large bus or trailer. A vintage Mexican Restaurant.

From the Heart of Taxco to the Soul of west town

Our story begins in the hills of Taxco, Guerrero, where traditions run deep and food has always been more than a meal. It was in that town that we learned the true meaning of hospitality. Surrounded by family tables, busy mercados, and the stories passed down through generations.

At the heart of that inspiration is El Abanico, the restaurant started by Papá Mel and Mamá Nicha. Their dedication, their recipes, and their love for serving others laid the foundation for everything we do today. Their story is the reason this dream exists.

Carrying that legacy forward, we have spent years working tirelessly in this industry - building, learning, and perfecting every detail. This hard work is woven into every dish we serve and every experience we create.

Zócalo is more than a restaurant.
It’s a tribute.
It’s a celebration.
It’s our story - and now it’s yours, too.
